Left ventricular mass and incident cardiovascular events. Results of a study including 5,098 participants who underwent cardiac MRI at baseline examination and were followed for a median of 4 years: elevated LV shows a strong association with incident heart failure (HF) events. LV mass-to-volume ratio is positively associated with coronary heart disease (CHD) or a stroke. During MRI, double standards should be applied for evaluation of LV mass and geometry.
