Insuffisance rénale chronique (IRC) et risque de cancer chez l'homme âgé.

Résultats d'une étude australienne incluant

3.047 H&F  de 49-97 ans  suivis pendant 10,1 ans :

les hommes, mais pas les femmes, ayant une filtration glomérulaire <= 55 ml/min/1,73
ont un risque significativement augmenté de cancer du poumon ou de l'arbre urinaire.

On connaissait antérieurement le lien entre le risque général de cancer et le stade terminal de l'insuffisance rénale.

Chronic kidney disease and risk of cancer among elders.

Results of an Australian study including 3,047 men and women aged 49 to 97 years followed during 10.1 years: men but not women, having glomerular filtration rate of = 55ml/min/1.73 had significantly increased risk for lung and urinary tract cancers. The link between the general risks of cancer and chronic kidney disease is an established fact.
